Taiheiyo showcases sewing products to ‘Suroy-Suroy’ provincial delegates

SAN FERNANDO, Cebu (Nov. 15, 2019)Taiheiyo Cement Philippines, Inc. (TCPI) took part today in the southeastern edition of the domestic tourism promotion program of the Cebu Provincial Government that included this town.

The company showcased to participating delegates of Suroy-Suroy Sugbo 2019 led by Gov. Gwendolyn F. Garcia the products of the women’s organization whose livelihood programs TCPI has been supporting over the years.

The beneficiaries of its sewing livelihood project from South Poblacion, Panadtaran and North Poblacion displayed eco-bags, rags, curtains and shorts.

“They sold quite a number to the delegates,” shared Vanessa N. Bongcawil, TCPI community and general affairs section head.

“The Suroy-Suroy also came as an opportunity for our beneficiaries to exchange contact details with the delegates. They are hopeful of some opportunities for substantial orders to come,” she added.

San Fernando Councilors Juvy Procianos and Riza Canoy-Osmeña appreciated the efforts of the sewing livelihood beneficiaries, and are hopeful that their fledgling entrepreneurial venture would grow into a sustainable industry.
