
SOUTH POBLACION, San Fernando, Cebu (Oct. 19, 2021) — Sea marshals of this barangay in San Fernando now have a floating station to watch over municipal waters from illegal fishers and sea pirates, as well as protect local fishers and ensure their daily catch.
Solid Earth Development Corp. (SEDC) helped realize and assemble the facility for Bantay Dagat that it launched today with Barangay Captain Dioscoro Esbra and other barangay officials off Sitio Tapon.
SEDC officials and Esbra cut the ceremonial ribbon, bared Mitzie Almira Carin, manager of the company’s human resources and administration division.
Through Bayanihan spirit, beneficiary fishermen carried the facility on land into the seawaters to serve its purpose.
Community relations officer Gines Boltron, Cris Nuez and Glenn Tamparong witnessed the launch with representatives of Taiheiyo Cement Philippines, Inc. and Mabuhay Filcement.
