Company adopts employee handbook

SAN FERNANDO, Cebu (May 21, 2021)Twenty years since Taiheiyo Cement Philippines, Inc. (TCPI) started to operate in the country, the company has come up with an Employee Handbook for the first time.

The initial 2020 edition compiles three guidelines established and practiced over the years, according to Christy C. Paypa, a staff of the human resources and administration division.

These include Employment Policies, the Code of Ethics and the Code of Conduct, she disclosed.

She said the HRA team started drafting the handbook towards the last months of 2020 when the government already eased quarantine restrictions to deal with the still prevailing CoViD-19 pandemic.

After the team completed the bound document by mid-April 2021, it conducted seven separate sessions among 335 employees both at the plant site in San Fernando and the Cebu City office (CCO) with Japanese expats participating.

It conducted the 2.5-hour session in the morning and afternoon of April 29 and 30 and May 14, 2021, and earlier this morning, May 21, at the plant site with CCO employees joining virtually.

The participants left the session with their copy of the manual.
