TCPI plant keeps honor in 'Safest Mineral Processing'

TAIHEIYO Cement Philippines, Inc. (TCPI) continues to maintain a good safety record in mineral processing as the Philippine Mining Safety and Environment Association (PMSEA) again recognized the consistent efforts of the company for years now.

Their colleagues in the industry named TCPI a runner-up for “Safest Mineral Processing” (cement plant category) during the Safest Mines, Mineral Processors and Quarries Awards that highlighted the recent National Mine Safety and Environment Conference.

The evaluation committee graded TCPI 96.09 percent, a near excellent rating.

No less than the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) and the Mines and Geosciences Bureau (MGB) handed the award based on the safety records for the calendar year 2011-2012 during the awarding on Nov. 16, 2012 at Camp John Hay in Baguio City.

TCPI has been recognized for its safety feat either as the top awardee or a runner-up for some eight years now.
