Taiheiyo briefs San Fernando officials with progress of social, eco programs
Taiheiyo Cement Philippines Inc. (TCPI) recently gave San Fernando officials an update of its social and environmental programs relative to its operations and that of its supplier for earth materials, Solid Earth Development Corporation (SEDC).

San Fernando Mayor Lakambini “Nenette” G. Reluya and the barangay captains of the two companies’ stakeholder barangays attended the briefing last August 12 at the TCPI penthouse.
They also interacted and gave their inputs to the company executives led by Takahiko Imachi, TCPI senior vice president for finanee and administration, and Takashi Sugiyama, SEDC director and chief technical adviser.
Mines and Geosciences Bureau (MGB) Region 7 community affairs officer Carlos D. Arcilla attended and witnessed the briefing.
TCPI-SEDC community relations office head Gines T. Boltron presented the plans, projects, activities and accomplishments of the Social Development and Management Program (SDMP) of both companies.
Engr. Nilo R. Yap, TCPI head for environmental management, also presented the initiatives and concerns addressed by the Environmental Protection and Enhancement Program(EPEP).
TCPI and SEDC conducted the IEC meeting to promote awareness and embolden the different stakeholders’ knowledge on their SDMP projects, according to Esther P. Cola, TCPI senior manager for human resources and administration.
TCPI senior vice president for production and plant manager Katsuo Ono oversaw the conduct of the interactive briefing with the support of SEDC HRA manager Emylita B. Ortega and Delfin A. Campo, SEDC operations manager protection and enhancement initiatives.
