Cement firm backs school campaign in San Fernando
Taiheiyo Cement Philippines, Inc. (TCPI) supported the “Brigada Eskwela” campaign in three hinterland schools in San Fernando.
Along with Solid Earth Development Corporation (SEDC), TCPI provided each school with six gallons of latex paint for cement surfaces and another set of six gallons of enamel paint for wooden surfaces.

The school officials and parents of the public elementary schools in barangays Tañañas, Tabionan and Ilaya sought the assistance of the Taiheiyo companies in the procurement of supplies for their Brigada Eskwela activities while these schools were still on vacation last month.

As education has been a priority in their joint community development program, TCPI and SEDC supported the projects to improve the conditions of the classrooms of these schools and make these suitable for learning.

Both companies now maintain 48 high school and 3 college scholars, rebuilt the Home Economics building of South Poblacion Elementary School, and has been awarding outstanding graduates and undergraduate students who have excelled yearly in elementary and high school.

The Taiheiyo group also supported the Cebu Provincial Government in the construction over two years nowof at least 201 school buildings with two classrooms each around the province.
