San Fernando residents get free medical services
DOCTORS examine patients and prescribe medicines to patients during a joint medical mission by Taiheiyo Cement and Solid Earth at the Tañañas Elementary School. 

CLOSE to 700 residents of barangay Tañañas in the hinterlands of San Fernando town, southern Cebu received medical attention during a medical mission by Taiheiyo Cement Philippines, Inc. (TCPI) last December 12, 2009.
Company physician Dr. Ildebrando Estella led the doctors and volunteers from TCPI and materials supplier Solid Earth Development Corp. (SEDC) led by SEDC director Takashi Sugiyama, who oversaw the activity at the Tañañas Elementary School.
Tañañas barangay captain Sheila Canoy also gave a hand during the mission with the barangay councilors, teachers, health workers and tanods.
Among the cases attended to during the medical mission were hypertension, muscle pains, upper respiratory tract infection and gastritis.
Canoy thanked the organizers of the whole day mission that benefited her constituents, who also received free medicines.
The medical mission was jointly organized by TCPI and SEDC as part of their joint Social Development and Management Program (SDMP).
